Before I started to read this book, I had been expecting a history book about the World War II. €�HHhH” is the inspiring true story of two brave heroes, Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš. A self-aware author struggles with accuracy in this possibly postmodern, consistently fascinating history of the assassination of a key Nazi. 'The prose in HHhH is often matter-of-fact rather than colourful. How does a writer make a novel set during World War Two? This can not be answered, there are only more questions. €�HHhH” by Laurent Binet (2010) – 327 pages Translated by Sam Taylor. First, the eccentric title: HHhH. HHhH: “Himmlers Hirn heisst Heydrich”, or “Himmler's brain is called Heydrich”.
